“Broken Capillaries” and “Spider Veins”
Bono-Blend Technique TM
A simple and inexpensive procedure for removal of unwanted facial and upper body vascular blemishes…
Vascular Blemishes
Vascular blemishes are commonly called “broken capillaries” or “spider veins” and can take many different forms. The medical name for these unsightly vessels is Telangiectasia. The cluster of capillaries under the eye or on the nose, the “blood dot” on the upper lip, the vessels on the side of the nose, neck or upper chest, are all forms of vascular blemishes.
Unfortunately, most people live their entire lifetime not knowing that these disfiguring blemishes can be easily and safely removed. Now, using the Bono-Blend technique, these marks can be removed in a matter of minutes!
What causes these blemishes?
There are many different causes of vascular blemishes, but the single greatest cause is heredity. Fair-skinned people are prone to develop vascular blemishes. Aging, excessive sun exposure, wear and tear on the skin and trauma (such as an abrasion) can cause the condition. Improper blackhead extraction is a common injury that causes vascular blemishes.
Does alcohol cause the condition?
Surprisingly, medical research does not include moderate alcohol consumption as a common cause. Medical research, however, does show that certain diseases can manifest vascular blemishes. So, you must have our doctor look at these blemishes before treatment to rule out disease. Be assured, however, that most cases of vascular blemishes are not disease related but simply a matter of heredity.

A Simple, Proven Technique What is the treatment?
Amazing as it seems, the Bono-Blend method has been used for 20 years to remove vascular blemishes! It is a safe and proven method. Basically, a hair-fine needle coagulates the vessel. The vessel “dries up” and is eliminated. Scarring or marking after treatment almost never occurs.
Should my regular doctor remove these blemishes?
Unfortunately, most doctors use an instrument called a hyfrecator to remove vascular blemishes. This is a very powerful instrument used for many applications of electro-surgery such as mole removal. The power output of the hyfrecator is significantly higher than that of the Bono-Blend technique. Consequently, tiny scars usually form when using the hyfrecator to remove vascular blemishes. Certainly you don't want to exchange your tiny blood vessel blemishes for tiny scars. Unfortunately, most doctors are unaware of the Bono-Blend technique and many still use the hyfrecator!
Below, you see the results of only one treatment. When vessels are close together, we recommend removing about half the blood vessels at the initial appointment.
Before: Initially, about half of the vessels are removed.
After: Five weeks after the first treatment, about half the vessels are gone.
What about laser?
One of the most exciting inventions in medical technology is the laser. Laser is effective for removing large birthmarks (the Gorbachev-type “port wine stain”), but is not recommended for most common vascular blemishes. Although effective, laser often coagulates too much surrounding skin thus causing post-operative marking, bruising, and scarring. Laser treatments are extremely expensive compared to the Bono-Blend technique!
What else should I know?
To give you some idea of the success and cost of your treatment, our technician will consult with you and inspect the blemishes you wish removed. If you only have a few vascular blemishes, treatment time will only be a few minutes. The treatment process will be clearly explained during the consultation. Advice will also be given to avoid new vascular blemishes. Please phone our office for a consultation.
Most blemishes are removed in one to three treatments. Each treatment takes a few minutes.
Treatments are not very painful: Most patients experience only slight discomfort.
The blood vessel usually vanishes immediately after the treatment.
There is some redness and swelling after the treatment. The area looks normal within a few hours. A minuscule crust (nearly invisible) will form.
All instruments (needles) are medically sterilized and disposable. You are absolutely safe! You will be referred to our physician to rule out disease; however, nearly all cases are hereditary.
